Hop, Hop, Hop

When I saw the pattern for these bunny fingerpuppets I just knew I'd have to make them!!

They added an extra hop and skip to the Easter Egg hunt this morning and are so easy to make, just don't forget to make the tail otherwise there will be some last minute pom-pom making!!

I also treated Flopsy Bunny to a rather gorgeous egg cosy from Snapdragon, although she wasn't as enamoured with it as I was - such a shame I don't like eggs!!!  I think Flopsy Bunny would have preferred chocolate, despite me hiding a chocolate bunny under this cosy!!

Happy Easter!

Bunny time

It must be Spring and Easter coming up as my thoughts are turning to Bunny's again!!  If you have been reading my blog for some time you will know that I am quietly obsessed with bunnies - it's a genetic thing, as you can see from my own Flopsy Bunny above with her beloved rabbit (gosh she looks so young there - where did those days go . . .?).  Bunny posts crop up and multiply like, well rabbits around this time of the year, here's one, oh here's another, here's one and yes another one too!

So imagine my delight at finding these two gorgeous treats.  Snapdragon's garden has made what has to be the most cute and adorable bunny egg cosy and Flopsy Bunny will definately being getting one of those this Easter.  Then I saw over at The Purl Bee some very cute Bunny Finger Puppets, which I am already seeing as an Easter Craft Project in our house!

[Sigh] bunnies, bunnies everywhere - that's what makes a girl around here happy!

Bunny Madness

I've gone a bit bunny mad at the moment. I've finally made a bunny nugget - I've been promising myself I'd make one since last Easter and finally it's here! Although it does keep squeaking, as Rebecca said it would, so I've started on a couple more to keep it company. I borrowed KrisKnits idea of adding a weight in the bottom and put four 1p's on top of the stuffing before sewing up the bottom seam. I think my version has a bit of a devilish look about it - so should fit in right at home here!
Then I bought a few more things (OK, bunnies) for the Easter tree.

Then I couldn't resist this little hoppity thing, I bought it for the kids but I think it was for me really . . . If you didn't guess it hops around!! Soooooooooooo cute.

Bunny Obsession

I'm starting to wonder who in our family really has the bunny obsession - is it Flopsy Bunny who has enough bunnies to fill a small burrow ... or is it in fact me . . . ? I caught myself typing "Bunny" into the pattern search on Ravelry the other day and then spent a good half an hour going through all the bunny patterns frantically adding them to my favourites and then at the end wondering if I really needed to make all these cute little bunnies. Of course need doesn't really come into it when talking about knitting or sewing, so maybe I've got a knitting obsession which just happens to be focused on knitting bunnies at the moment! Anyway, here's the latest bunny from Artsy-Fartsy-Mama. It is so easy to knit, in fact it is a square that has been cleverly turned into a bunny with simple stitching. A bit like origami. Really clever and very cute. The only thing I would say was that my bunny was a bit top heavy and keeps falling over so if I were to make this bunny again I would put a weight in it to keep it standing up.

So with Easter over and my promise to myself not to knit anymore bunnies - the bunny nuggets will have to wait until next Easter - I have started on something for Little Roo who has been a bit neglected of late in receiving knitted things. I have a couple of things lined up for him so watch this space!

Bunny Party

Out of the blue last week, Flopsy Bunny announced "lets have a bunny party mummy!" I'm not sure what she had in mind exactly, although it is bound to involve chocolate, biscuits and cake ... and more chocolate, biscuits and cake!

Anyway with Easter just round the corner, I thought some Easter decorations were in order. Luckily, just in time, Little Cotton Rabbits came up with a gorgeous pattern for a Bunny Egg Cosy. A great hit with Flopsy Bunny, who as you know just loves bunnies and is also quite partial to the odd boiled egg! It was so easy to make, that I'm hoping to make one for Little Roo - luckily as he is not on solids yet there isn't a great rush to do the second one; and I have also astounded myself in being able to complete this bit of knitting! I'm wondering if I have time to make some of Little Cotton Rabbits Easter Eggs or maybe that's a step too far!
